I think he's referring to the newest patch which broke some of the custom maps (using JASS or something? Maybe?).

Every single complex map whose author is no longer around and is protected has become useless. Even the campaign went shit. Some of the chapters give fatal errors, others don't save items between chapters and some are even unopenable, the most notable of them being "The Culling". "Angry" is not enough to describe how I feel. I can't but stop thinking their lack of care for WoW infected W3, too. I can't understand how a programmer of such a big and important company has such a lack of brain to simply go and start deleting basic game code without caring about the consequences. Oh, so this weak bone is evil for your body? Let's remove all the bones of the zone, then. Oh, you can't walk now? Who would expect that!

If I may be allowed I have... a plan There is a Warcraft III version shifter http://www.dota-utilities.com/2009/1...24c-patch.html But Mark! that would mean we can not connect to Battlenet! Well you are right but we can use Garena to play on older versions trough LAN http://www.dota-utilities.com/2009/1...24c-patch.html And aslo you can change your background for the lulz http://lancraft.blogspot.com/2009/09...r-windows.html So do I hear the crowd cheering?

The problem lies on the peoples lazyness to get Garena :S. I myself haven't still recovered from the shock: I haven't depatched W3 yet. Must do soon, before they get to remove the old patches .I was working hard on Black Citadel map. I would like to retake it eventually, if I see activity around our small team again .

Well, regarding lack Citadel, the terrain structure is finished. I just need to add doodads around, and I'm able to do that in a single day. I started copying those from the campaign, and then the patch came and I couldn't open the campaign anymore and I got angry and stopped doing it.
If I depatch, I'll reopen the campaign and finish copying the doodads. I want it to be as similar as possible to the original one (yeah, I'm going for red, fuck that Shadowmoon green!). I thought of making it by phases (Timolas' suggestion) but right now I think I'll aim for a huge assault map, similar to the one from the campaign, and perhaps add those "phases" as "minigames" or optional quests that must be done following some rules. I translated the layout of the original map into a new one, with the same number of generators and walls of death-towers, but in the TBC's Black Temple structure. My main concern right now is the lagg. The map is big. Very big. And supposed to be full of troops. Aside from the terrain and the sewer "labyrinth", the most interesting thing I've developed for this map is, no doubt, the ladder system. It's cool, you'll see (if I ever get to finish it properly, duh).I must finish the "bombs", too. You know, normal abilities that now, instead of being casted over a single target, have an area of effect and are like 10 times that ability. Think of mana-burning an entire group of enemies . I want them for the siege

Divide the Black Citadel into pieces; so that you can spawn the units with triggers when a certain 'level' is defeated. That way you don't have to have all the units on the map at once.

I remember in a Four Gods map of stealthing Sylvanas right into Gentle's base and killing both his heroes.
All the early versions of Scythe Hunt. Despite Aurugal being unkillable I always won. Blimp Tag. |

I have an exchange student from Germany over. It's awesome fun when we meet up with the rest of the exchange and do our own thing as a group of friends. I'm sunburned IN WINTER!
So forgive my slowness as regards getting back to the others in updating. I barely have a minute to myself.

I guess you're talking about a "Life of a Peasant" dragon style, nope?
xDDDThere's something similar around, but it sucks, so you would do a great job making a proper map .Quote:
Anyway, we could get to play again in a month or so, when exams end. There will be like another month between exams' end and SC2 release, so we could play .
